Service Overview
Black Greek Dating is committed to working with the nine historically black fraternal organizations of the Pan-Hellenic Council. In that light, we have dedicated an entire section of our website, to be used exclusively by each of the nine organizations, and their individual chapters, for the posting of upcoming events in their calendars.
To be able to facilitate this offer, we have allocated one account per organization, as well as an account each for their individual chapters. Each chapter account will be owned and controlled by either the chapter president or vice-president at the time of sign-up, and can be handed down to successive presidents and vice-presidents.
To setup an account on behalf of a member of the “Divine Nine,” a representative may either email or phone us, so that we may determine who will be responsible for the account we will provide for them.
How It Works
- The president or vice-president creates a login name and password for the account.
- The user then fills in the requisite information about his or her chapter.
- The user lists the URL, where a link to Black Greek Dating has been placed on his or her chapter’s home website.
- The user reviews his or her sign-up information, then submits it to our database.
- A verification email is sent to the email address associated with the new account.
- The user clicks the verification link provided in the email, thereby proving that he or she either owns that email address, or has permission to access it.
- The staff at BGD, verify all of the information provided on the new account and an approval email is sent, with a private link to where you can login and start posting events.
- The user can start posting events to the website immediately. As a side-note, however, our database will not take postings for events that are more than two weeks into the future. This keeps the information fresh for our users. We don’t want to have any of the, “Oh that’s been posted there since forever,” type of sentiment directed to our events directory.
A Word On Your E-mail Address
The email address to be used with this account, MUST be an address that can be identified with the school with which your chapter is associated. In other words, if you attend Fayetteville State University, your school’s address will be www.uncfsu.edu and, therefore, your official chapter email address, MUST be in the format yournickname@uncfsu.edu.
Additionally, this address MUST be listed as one of the contact addresses on one of the main pages of your chapter’s website. Each chapter website MUST be hosted on your college or university’s domain. For example, using the same school above, your school’s address will be www.uncfsu.edu and, therefore, your chapter’s website address might be www.uncfsu.edu/fsugreeks/omegapsiphi.
These stringent rules have been taken in order to prevent fraudulent sign-ups, as well as make it easy for us to track and identify those persons who would violate the terms of use of this website.
Graduate Chapters
If you are a graduate chapter, or are the representative of the headquarters of one of the fraternal organizations, the above information does not apply to you. However, we want and welcome your participation, and would like all interested parties to send us email or call us at the numbers provided below to work out the terms of your participation.
Rearing To Go
If you are a president/vice-president of a chapter of the ‘Divine Nine,” and you understands how everything works, and have already posted a link to us from your chapter’s website, then please go ahead and register for our service.
Please note:
Our database will only allow postings for events that are no more than two weeks way, so please
be advised.
